The Grand Prix stallion Colestus has been a talking point from an early age and has proven itself in breeding on all fronts. The Cornet Obolensky son has already produced a number of famous show jumping horses, of which Greya by Kent Farrington is probably the best known. Under Farrington, Greya won the Rolex Grand Prix of La Baule in 2024 and the mare is one of the greatest talents of her generation. Chuck Marienshof Z was also particularly successful last year; under the saddle of Lars Kersten, he jumped clear in several Nations Cups and was crowned EEF Horse of the Year. Another show jumping phenomenon by Colestus is Colestus Cambrigde, ridden by Katharina Rhomberg, who took part in the Olympic Games in Paris at the age of only nine. Nayel Nassar’s Jiminy Cricket and Christian Ahlmann’s Classic Dream have also already achieved impressive winnings.
Colestus was an unprecedented jumping talent from day one at Ludger Beerbaum’s stable and jumped at 1.60m level at a young age. As an eight-year-old, he won several prizes under Marco Kutscher and Ludger Beerbaum on the CSI5* stage and later, under Christian Kukuk, Colestus also achieved sensational results at the highest level.
Colestus’ sire Cornet Obolensky needs no further explanation as a breeding and sport stable and the same actually applies to grandsire Stakkato. Dam Spice Girl R gave, besides Colestus, a number of successful show jumping horses and also several international show jumping horses coming from his dam line.
